Llangollen
Llangollen is the "Gateway to Wales". Set in the
picturesque Dee Valley. This beautiful town hosts thousands of tourists
every year.
The town boasts a steam railway, 17th Century "Ladies of Llangollen",
Plas Newydd House, the 13th Century remains of Castle Dinas Bran, and
horse drawn canal boat trips that will take you to visit the Horseshoe
Falls and also visit the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
Vale Crucis Abbey is situated on the outskirts of town.
The World renowned International Eisteddfod is held in Llangollen every
July.
Llangollen also hosts the BBC accredited Dr. Who exhibition.
Llangollen attracts walkers and canoeists, and is also ideal for shooting,
hand gliding, pony trekking, rock climbing and fishing on the spectacular
River Dee.
